Simulations can be completed in less than a minute and quickly shared with other operational staff
Quickly Determine the Path of a Fire and Calculate Potential Impacts
Everything you need for wildfire risk forecasting, spread predictions, risk mitigation, and fire behavior analysis in one platform.
When wildfires occur, it is important to quickly understand where the fire is going and what it will impact. FireSim provides an on-demand capability within WFA-E to create a spread prediction and obtain detailed information on potential impacts within seconds of incident notification. Impact analysis, including at-risk populations, structures and buildings, critical facilities, and company assets, is automatically undertaken with each prediction – all within 30 seconds. This information is critical for infrastructure protection, response, and resource prioritization.
Automatic Impact and Consequence Analysis for Your Buildings, Population, Critical Facilities and Assets.
Understanding the potential impacts and consequences of a wildfire is essential to support agency decision making, especially when multiple incidents occur at a time.
FireSim automatically conducts impact analysis with each simulation, providing results within a minute. This includes information on which asset is impacted, when it is impacted, the level of impact. A building loss factor is also applied to determine the number of structures destroyed in addition to those threatened. Understanding potential impacts, when and where, is key information for fire professionals to determine the priorities and response tactics.
Integrate with your CAD and IRWIN for automatic incident spread predictions
FireSim provides automatic spread predictions within seconds of receiving incident notifications from agency CAD systems. Through seamless integration with the Integrated Reporting of Wildland-Fire Information (IRWIN) federal system, FireSim automatically receives incident notifications for all federal agencies and any state agency that is part of the interagency CAD system. This allows FireSim to track all active incidents in real-time and provide prediction capabilities for every incident.
FireSim Mobile Gives Your Users Access to Critical Information in the Field
A native mobile application provides simulation capabilities while in the field. Supporting both iOS and Android, remote users can retrieve existing simulations, or request new simulations within seconds. New simulations are seamlessly synchronized with a cloud-base repository sharing data with all permissions users. Each simulation includes impact analysis and an Initial Attack Assessment, identifying if the simulated fire is likely to escape initial attack. This allows managers to set response priorities based fire potential rankings.
Users are also able to add field observations with photos and attach them to simulations for viewing across all platforms by permission users. The mobile app provides in-the-field users access to simulation information at the touch of a button.
