Privacy Statement
What personal information does Technosylva collect and receive?
Technosylva may collect personal information including your name, agency/organization name, address, telephone number, email address, and location. Technosylva’s applications may require registration with some personal information to gain access, this information is used to authenticate users and provide support. You can control what additional data is shared with Technosylva. Technosylva may collect information regarding support requests in the form of emails, phone, or online-chat. With your consent, Technosylva may use remote access to navigate and troubleshoot specific issues. Data collected during support may include, but not be limited to information about hardware, software, and error logs associated with the request. Technosylva products may be used to collect and store text, photos, videos, and files provided by you. This data will not be used for any purposes outside of the services provided by Technosylva.
How is my location data used?
Technosylva provides several apps that may collect user location data. Users have control over app location service settings at the device app permissions level as well as several GPS collection settings within apps with these features. Some apps are designed for emergency responders to manage incident response information. Depending on client deployments of our software, emergency responders can optionally share their location with the system and can use their GPS receiver to collect geospatial information, such as mapping points, lines, and/or polygons. If your location positions are shared, other agency users may have access to see your location information – a key piece of information for emergency responder safety and situational awareness. However, the visibility of this information is permissioned within the system and not all agency users will have access to this information. Visibility of your location is determined by agency business requirements.
If granted by the user, some apps may use location services in the background. This feature is offered to users that need to collect geospatial information such as lines or polygons via GPS streaming while the app is in the background or the device screen is asleep. This feature is offered so users can complete other tasks on their devices and conserve battery while collecting GPS data in the field.
Several free apps provided by Technosylva use location services to allow users to “zoom to my location” on a map. These apps do not share location information with other users and do not use location services in the background.
Technosylva does not sell or share location data with third parties.
