Bob brings a wealth of guidance to Technosylva from a career across the electric and natural gas sectors, and in the regulatory and investor communities.
Bob served as CEO of Northwestern Energy from 2008 until retiring in January 2023. During that period, Bob and his management team tripled Northwestern’s market capitalization, earnings per share, and rate base. Currently, Bob is a Venture Partner with The Westly Group and a Senior Advisor to Guggenheim Partners.
Bob has a strong impact on the industry, currently serving as a member of various boards, including the American Gas Association (AGA) Foundation Board; the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Institute for Energy Transition Advisory Committee; the EEI Global Executive Leadership Network; and as a Senior Fellow at the University of Florida Public Utility Research Center. In addition, he serves on multiple non-profit boards, including Yellowstone Forever; the non-profit partner of Yellowstone National Park; the University of Montana Foundation Board of Trustees; and the Lewis & Clark College Board of Trustees.
Previously, Bob has served on the AGA Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He served on the EEI Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and co-chaired both EEI’s Institute for Electric Innovation, and its CEO Committee on State Policy and Engagement. He also served on the Western Energy Institute (WEI) Board of Directors and is the Past Chair of its Executive Committee.
Bob earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lewis & Clark College in Portland Oregon. He also completed the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Advanced Management Program; and the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Executive Program, among other professional education programs.
