Tom Kuhn

Tom brings over 30 years’ experience working in the electricity industry, helping lead industry efforts to strengthen the grid, transition to clean energy generation sources, and advanced technologies for a cleaner and more reliable grid.

Tom served as President & CEO of the Edison Electric Institute from 1990 till his retirement in 2023. Prior to joining EEI, he was president of the American Nuclear Energy Council, which subsequently merged with the Nuclear Energy Institute. Currently, he is President & CEO of Global Energy Advisors; serves as Chairman the Board of Anterix, Inc; and joined TerraPower’s Board as an advisor in January 2024.

Tom is very engaged with the industry, serving as Senior Advisor to Energy Impact Partners, sits on the boards of the United States Energy Association, and was Chairman Emeritus of the Committee of 100 of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He previously served on the Secretary of Energy’s Advisory Board. In addition, he serves on the board of the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation, the American Society of Association Executives, and is the Chairman-Emeritus of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Previously, Tom served in the United States Navy as a Supply Officer aboard the USS Willard Keith (DD-775) and was White House Liaison Officer to the Secretary of the Navy under President Richard Nixon and President Gerrald Ford.

Tom holds an M.B.A. from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Yale University. He also completed the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Senior Executive Program.
